Co-Founder and Managing Director
Neil has nearly 40 years’ experience in the waste and recycling industry. His knowledge of equipment servicing and manufacturing has helped forge Wastech into the successful business it is today. Neil’s background in managing fleets of garbage trucks taught him the value of quality and reliability and these principles have been cemented into the Wastech culture. Neil is passionate about solving customers’ problems and he knows that in doing so, he’ll be driving the growth of the business he co-founded.
Co-Founder and Executive General Manager
As both a co-founder of Wastech, and a prominent figure in the waste and recycling industry, Paul brings extensive knowledge and a focus on developing unrivalled products and support to the sector. Having managed fleets of garbage trucks and waste equipment, Paul understands the importance of reliability and dependability on the equipment he helps specify for customers. Day-to-day, Paul leads Wastech’s Technical Support in the Sales and Service divisions giving customers access to his vast years of experience and product knowledge while ensuring we get it right the first time.
Chief Executive Officer
Scott has over 25 years’ experience in the industrial sectors and close to 20 years in various management roles in the Waste Management Industry, predominately in the Industrial Services division servicing the Resources and Infrastructure markets. Over his career Scott has held several operational roles such as Branch Manager, Operational Manager and State Manager and since 2009 has held several General Manager’s positions, leading large operations across Australia and New Zealand. Scott joined Wastech Engineering in 2020 as General Manager, and has since been elevated to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Chairman of the Board
Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge and business experience with more than 40 years’ experience in the waste management and water industries. In June 2020, after more than a decade of service, Cheryl stepped down as the inaugural Chair of EPA Victoria during which time she guided the organisation through a period of significant transition, leading continual reform with a focus on building EPA Victoria into an independent modern regulator. Cheryl is currently the Chair of Victorian Land Registry Services and CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, is a member of the Fishermans Bend Development Board and sits on the advisory boards of Monash Sustainable Development Institute and Litterati. Cheryl has previously served on the Boards of Melbourne Water, Sustainability Victoria, the Victorian Catchment Management Council, City West Water, Southern Rural Water, EcoRecycle Victoria and many other government, industry association and not-for-profit boards.
Mark De Ambrosis
Non-Executive Board Member
Mark is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Armitage Associates. Mark co-founded Armitage Associates in 2016 in partnership with the Schwartz family. Mark started his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Co in Sydney. In 2009 he founded Longreach Capital in Chicago and returned to Australia in 2011 where he spent more than five years leading the investment team at M. H. Carnegie & Co as the firm’s Investment Director and Partner. Mark has an MBA from Harvard Business (graduated Baker Scholar), and a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland.
Executive General Manager, Projects
Scott is a well-respected industry leader with more than 30 years’ in the waste and recycling sector. He has held various positions over three decades, including serving as a manager in projects, engineering, operations, and manufacturing. As a result, Scott has a firm grasp on all the aspects of end-to-end supply chain operations. Passionate about engaging fully with the customer from start to finish, Scott works to find the best solution before committing to astute delivery and performance.
Shaun is a financial and commercial executive with over 20 years of experience across multiple sectors and business models. He began his career working at leading accounting firms in Melbourne before moving into industry roles where he has been responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies and end-to-end finance functions. Shaun holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from Monash University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
National Service Centre Manager
Tony Burrowes is the National Service Centre Manager for Wastech Engineering and is responsible for the service department network team, which includes all facets of service and repairs and spare parts. By applying his general management experience and passion for customer service, Tony is implementing positive changes to ensure the highest quality of customer service is delivered by a team of skilled technical team members. Tony has previously held national and senior roles in Operations, Procurement and Fleet Management in both private and ASX listed organisations. Tony has spent all of his working life in industrial-based industries, including over a decade in the Waste industry, manufacturing, specialised contracting, construction, and steel fabrication. Tony holds tertiary qualifications in Management, Procurement, Logistics and OH&S.
National Sales and Marketing Manager
Paul has over 28 years’ experience within the industrial sector. Over the past 17 years, he has held various senior sales management positions such as National Manager, Regional Manager, and National Sales Manager. He joined Wastech Engineering in 2020 as National Sales and Marketing Manager.
