Chief Executive Officer

Clete is a well-respected leader in the waste management industry, having held senior executive positions with ASX listed Boral & Cleanaway Waste Management – more recently he has worked with Equis Developments focused on infrastructure development across renewables, biomass, waste and recycling. Clete comes to the business highly recommended and is well known to our Board. He has a deep passion and knowledge of the industry, collaborative leadership style and a genuine excitement about the opportunities for a new Wastech.

Chris Boast - General Manager Commercial Wastech Engineering

Chris Boast

General Manager, Commercial

Chris Boast is General Manager Commercial and is responsible for Wastech’s finance team. Chris has held senior commercial finance roles in a wide range of industries including mining & infrastructure, chemicals manufacturing and health care.

Garreth Dorey

General Manager, Sales & Marketing

Garreth brings a depth and breadth of experience leading various national sales functions and service based growth initiatives across multiple industries, including waste management. Garreth attributes his success as a customer-centric business growth leader to his ability to establish a deep understanding of a client’s purpose and the connect this to the business objectives.

Simplifying business marketing to improve the customer experience and maximise customer sales and company growth, resulting in delighted customers is a key measure of success for Garreth.

Tim Williams

National Service & Repairs Manager

Tim has extensive leadership experience in Service Delivery, Operations and financial analysis across a range of assets and capital equipment categories. Throughout his career, Tim has been responsible for managing various teams and is an expert in process change management, driving process review and recommending improvements while maintaining key operational and delivery KPI’s in check. His in-depth experience in managing client relationships across major contracts, resolving client complaints and leading business development is a testament to his customer-centric approach.

As the National Service and Repairs Manager, Tim will be overseeing our service and repair operations across Australia, ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Bryan Lynch

Technical Director

Bryan has worked in the Waste and Recycling sector for some of the largest operators in Australia for more than 25 years. Bryan brings to Wastech extensive experience in the safe and efficient design of waste processing fixed plant for a range of waste types.

Bryan is our Technical director with responsibility for solutions engineering, as well as ensuring that Wastech designs meet and ideally exceed customer expectations.

Cheryl Batagol

Chair of the Board

Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge and business experience with more than 40 years’ experience in the waste management and water industries.  In June 2020, after more than a decade of service, Cheryl stepped down as the inaugural Chair of EPA Victoria during which time she guided the organisation through a period of significant transition, leading continual reform with a focus on building EPA Victoria into an independent modern regulator. Cheryl is currently the Chair of Victorian Land Registry Services and CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, is a member of the Fishermans Bend Development Board and sits on the advisory boards of Monash Sustainable Development Institute and Litterati. Cheryl has previously served on the Boards of Melbourne Water, Sustainability Victoria, the Victorian Catchment Management Council, City West Water, Southern Rural Water, EcoRecycle Victoria and many other government, industry association and not-for-profit boards.

Neil Bone 

Director and Co-founder

Neil has nearly 40 years’ experience in the waste and recycling industry. His knowledge of equipment servicing and manufacturing has helped forge Wastech into the successful business it is today. Neil’s background in managing fleets of garbage trucks taught him the value of quality and reliability and these principles have been cemented into the Wastech culture. Neil is passionate about solving customers’ problems and he knows that in doing so, he’ll be driving the growth of the business he co-founded.

Paul Bone 

Director and Co-founder

As both a co-founder of Wastech, and a prominent figure in the waste and recycling industry, Paul brings extensive knowledge and a focus on developing unrivalled products and support to the sector. Having managed fleets of garbage trucks and waste equipment, Paul understands the importance of reliability and dependability on the equipment he helps specify for customers. Day-to-day, Paul leads Wastech’s Technical Support in the Sales and Service divisions giving customers access to his vast years of experience and product knowledge while ensuring we get it right the first time.

Mark De Ambrosis

Non-Executive Board Member

Mark is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Armitage Associates.  Mark co-founded Armitage Associates in 2016 in partnership with the Schwartz family. Mark started his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Co in Sydney. In 2009 he founded Longreach Capital in Chicago and returned to Australia in 2011 where he spent more than five years leading the investment team at M. H. Carnegie & Co as the firm’s Investment Director and Partner. Mark has an MBA from Harvard Business (graduated Baker Scholar), and a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland.

Andrew Coventry

Non-Executive Board Member

Andrew joined Armitage Associates in 2017 to establish the firm’s portfolio function. He is an experienced executive, director and investor. Andrew started his career with L.E.K. Consulting and went on to spend over 8 years with Catalyst Investment Managers in the role of Portfolio Director, leading the firm’s portfolio function working with investee companies.
